WETA ARTS - IN SLAVERY'S WAKE
Operating a Sony FX9 with G Master lenses (24-70 f2.8, 70-200 f2.8, and f4 servo zoom), I documented the opening of this groundbreaking exhibition on slavery's global legacies. Working handheld and on sticks, I captured opening remarks and two-camera interviews while navigating dense crowds to film patrons experiencing the exhibition for the first time. The main challenge involved maneuvering through packed galleries for optimal framing while finding willing participants for authentic b-roll. My lens selection enabled both intimate reaction shots and sweeping gallery coverage, documenting profound emotional responses to this significant cultural moment exploring racial slavery's reverberations.
